FILMED IN WNY – A Quiet Place Part II In Theatres Now FINALLY!

(May 27th, 2021)  After many stops and starts “A Quiet Place Part II” is finally in theatres for all to see.  Starring Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy with a prelude appearance from Director John Krasinski AQP2 delivers all the thrills and tension the first movie had and more.

After shooting 47 days on film in WNY locations such as Akron, Olcott, Dunkirk, Lackawanna, Buffalo and more, “A Quiet Place II” directed by John Krasinskihas finally hit theaters.  Location appearances of Lackawanna, Grand Island, Akron, Ollcott, Fredonia along with scenes shot inside Buffalo Filmworks can now be seen by everyone. After an impressive 4.5 million dollar preview night things are off to a great start.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter Director John Krasinski made a point of highlighting his crew which included many Western New Yorkers in relation to the opening sequence shot in Akron “I had a very can-do crew. I know that everybody thanks their crew and dedicates their movies to their crew, and I’m sure all those crews are deserving. But in my opinion, I’ve personally never worked with a more deserving crew…”.

B-movie stars Lynn Lowry, Debbie Rochon and Brooke Lewis Bellas have joined the cast of writer-director-producer Gregory Lamberson’s upcoming indie action epic Guns of Eden, currently crowdfunding on Indiegogo. The trio joins Alexandra Faye Sadeghian, who stars as Megan Forest, a Buffalo, New York cop suffering from PTSD who is hunted through the woods by different factions of an armed militia. The film shoots in the Buffalo-Niagara region this summer. Lamberson describes it as “Deliverance meets First Blood, with a dash of The Warriors.”

Lowry is a screen legend for her work in George A. Romero’s The Crazies, David Cronenberg’s Shivers, and Paul Schrader’s Cat People. Rochon is an independent film icon, and previously collaborated with Lamberson on Slime City Massacre, Dry Bones and Killer Rack, all filmed in Buffalo. Bellas, who co-starred in Slime City Massacre, Killer Rack, and iMurders, is also a co-producer on the film. The large cast includes many Buffalo-Niagara actors in key supporting roles, including Bill Kennedy, Trazz Johnson, Nicole Alshahen, Dominic Luongo, Kim Piazza, and John Renna.

Guns of Eden achieved 100% of its target goal on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, a rarity, and continues to fundraise through the end of this month. Erin Elizabeth Heald is the executive producer, with Tamar Lamberson, Chris Cosgrave, and Keith Lukowski producing. Armand John Petri, Kim Piazza, Faith Nichols Peterson, Brooke Lewis Bellas, and Brian C. Schilling are co-producers. Petri will compose and perform the film’s score with Joe Rozler.

CNN HLN features Documentary with Buffalo Ties on Danamora Prison Break This Weekend

Jamie Scalise- Daughter of Infamous Prison Escapee Richard Matt and Author of the Book “He’s Out!” to be Featured on CNN – HLN TV Documentary “How It Really Happened”

March 16, 2021…Buffalo, NY… Season six of HLN’s longest running original series “How It Really Happened” with Will Harper a two – hour documentary will air on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 9pm to 11pm.

The documentary will tell the story of infamous prison escapee, Richard Matt, a former Tonawanda, NY resident and will feature his daughter Jamie Scalise of North Tonawanda, NY.

In June of 2015, the greatest and most publicized prison break in the history of America took place when Richard Matt, a double murderer and David Sweat, a cop killer escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in mountainous upstate New York.

For Jamie Scalise, like most Americans, she was glued to her TV set but for a different reason. Richard Matt was her father! She experienced the most intense and emotionally draining three weeks of her life.

The limited TV mini-series, “Diary of a Lunatic: Sylke’s Tales” will premiere on Amazon Prime on March 5, 2021. The series is a follow up to the successful feature film, “Diary of a Lunatic…Trew’s Calling”, that was filmed in WNY and premiered in 2017.

This original series reunites the feature film original cast Tracey B. Wilson (“Guiding Light”, “All My Children”), Kevin Sizemore (“Fear of the Walking Dead”, “Resurrection”, “Under the Dome”), and introduces newcomer Melody Nardone (“Anathema”). The series co-stars Muse Watson (“NCIS”, “The Avengers”), Yancy Butler (“As The World Turns,” “Brooklyn South”, “Witchblade”), Cynthia Rothrock (“Cool Cat Kids Superhero,” “China O’Brian”). Six half-hour episodes were shot on location in Buffalo, New York.

“Diary of a Lunatic” is an ongoing action-packed fantasy, comedy, drama. Every human has alter egos that live in parallel worlds, the boundaries between these parallel universes have become fragile, planets are collapsing and alter egos are slipping through the crumbling universes and attaching to the wrong people.
