AFCI Cineposium coming to Buffalo in 2020

The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) announced this week that it’s 44th Cineposium will be held in the Buffalo Niagara Falls Region, from September 16th to the 19th . This event will be co-presented by AFCI and the Buffalo Niagara Film Office.

AFCI Executive Director Jess Conoplia made the announcement at the historic North Park Theatre along with a regional group of partners which included Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, NY State Senator Patrick Gallivan,  Scott Zylka of the Erie County Sheriffs Department, Visit Buffalo Niagara CEO Patrick Kaler, and Cineposium Local Chairperson, Rich Products Jonathan Dandes.  Other partners on hand included Buffalo State College President Katherine Conway Turner,  Destination Niagara USA CEO John Percy, Buffalo Niagara Film Commission Chairperson Cindy Abbott Letro, and notable Hollywood based actors Kim Coates and Cheektowaga native William Fichtner

Home to the jaw-dropping scenic beauty of the Niagara Falls with 4-6 million cubic feet of water rushing over the edges every minute of the day, Buffalo Niagara is a hot destination for domestic and international travelers alike. The region also has a rich screen history with projects such as The Natural, Planes Trains and Automobiles, and Buffalo 66 filming locally. Recent major studio features such as The Final Purge and Paramount’s A Quiet Place II have found a home in Buffalo Niagara thanks to its deep crew base and incredible locations.
