(December 14, 2011) Dipson Theatres, Inc., a locally owned and operated cinema circuit, announced it has completed a multi-million dollar project to renovate the Flix Theatre in Lancaster, NY. Updates include stadium seating with leather high back seats and digital projection. Four of the theatre’s ten screens are equipped with 3D technology. In addition, the theatre has installed Motion D-BOX seats, the first to premiere in the Western New York Area. D-BOX uses motion effects specifically programmed for each film which are sent to a motion generating system integrated within the seat. The resulting motion is synchronized with all onscreen action, allowing the moviegoer an enhanced viewing experience. The first major DBOX release opens December 16th with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Other updates include a brand new concession stand which will continue to serve the movie theatre staples, as well as new items such as personal pizzas, pretzel bites and also Crave, a Chocolate or Chocolate-Strawberry Milk beverage from Upstate Farms. Everything in the building from the carpeting to the ceilings will have a new look. There is a brand new party room available for patrons to host birthdays and other gatherings.
On Thursday December 15th at 7:00 pm, Dipson will host an invited guest only Grand Re-Opening Party to premiere all of the completed renovations and introduce the Crown Jewel of the Dipson Theatre chain.
Dipson Theatres, Inc. is a locally owned business which has twelve locations throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan. They have been operating for seventy-two years.
