Let Them Have Their Way – Screening This Saturday at North Park Theatre

BUFFALO/NIAGARA’S LONGEST-RUNNING INDEPENDENT FILM TO BE RELEASED

Feature Film “Let Them Have Their Way” Brings Together Approximately 400 Actors and 100 Locations Across Western New York

Let Them Have Their Way – Screening at North Park Theater

Buffalo, NY – (May 06, 2014) – On May 17th, a wrap party and group viewing will be held for the 500+ cast members, crew, and collaborators who contributed to the feature film “Let Them Have Their Way”.  The event celebrates the close of a production that required over 100 days of shooting spanning over 4 years.  The gathering will be held at the North Park Theatre in Buffalo, NY.

“Let Them Have Their Way” explores the states of human relationships in contemporary times and is an expressive, surreal critique of modern life.  The project is the longest-running independently financed film to have ever been made in the Buffalo-Niagara region and one of the largest in terms of scope and scale.  It is Vo’s first feature film, produced by Monolopolus Productions and Casa de Luz.

This film has largely united the Western New York region; we have collaborated with Buffalo’s major universities, filmed at major landmarks such as the Ellicott Square Building and the Buffalo NFTA Metro as well as at many small businesses and organizations that make the area so unique. We have received overwhelming support from the region and I think that says a lot about the future of film in Buffalo-Niagara.  We couldn’t have done this anywhere else”.
–Ryan Monolopolus, Monolopolus Productions

The film will be entering the film festival circuit later in 2014, and additional screening dates will be announced in the near future.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE: Outside Looking in at Domestic Violence

Scope of Practice: Outside Looking in at Domestic Violence

(March 4th, 2014) “What I wanted to do with this film is create a perspective from the outside looking in as opposed to the perspective of the victim.” Filmmaker Brandyn T. Williams describes his latest work; a short dramatic film entitled “Scope of Practice.”

Williams wrote the screenplay and directed it.  It’s a powerful story of a newly hired EMT who decides to risk his life and his career to take a stand against a local hero who is abusing his wife.   “I’ve witnessed domestic violence in my own family and with a few of my friends, but the film was directly influenced by one particular situation(involving a friend).  It was not necessarily the betrayal I felt when I found out one of my friends was an abuser, it was the way everyone I knew reacted to it.”

Scope of Practice Stands Against Domestic Violence“It’s told from the view of an outsider who witnesses domestic violence and decides to involve himself rather than turning his back. I wanted the character to inspire others to take a stand and act against that kind of behavior.” said Williams

The film stars Chris Barbis, Arlynn Knauff, Matt Fleck, Bryan Patrick Stoyle and a cast of talented Buffalo area actors. “Scope of Practice” was shot at various locations in Western New York including the Wehrle Family Restaurant, Blasdell Volunteer Fire Company, the Buffalo State College campus and private homes.

Scope of Practice was shot on a RED Scarlet by Matt Nardone and Joe Blodgett.

The film will have its official screening on Sunday April 6th at 5pm at the Market Arcade Cinema in downtown Buffalo.  For latest premiere info: Click Here
