Mayfield Tours, film producer Andrew Gernhard and the Buffalo Niagara Film Office previewed a new holiday travel experience combining Christmas movie locations, festive destinations and holiday traditions across three states

EAST AURORA, NY – September 24, 2026 – Mayfield Tours will bring a little Christmas magic to East Aurora this December 8-9th.

Ken and Deb Mayfield, along with film and television producer Andrew Gernhard of Synthetic Cinema International, gathered in front of Vidler’s 5 & 10 on Main Street with local officials to preview the newly announced Christmas Movie Road Trip.

The upcoming motorcoach experience will take Christmas movie fans on a multi-day journey through North Carolina, Western New York and Connecticut, visiting towns and locations connected to popular holiday movies while experiencing some of the Christmas traditions and destinations that make each region special.

But the Christmas Movie Road Trip is about more than seeing where Christmas movies were filmed.

The experience is designed to bring the feeling of those movies to life through holiday events, decorated towns, local restaurants and establishments, Christmas attractions and seasonal experiences along the route. Among the planned highlights is a visit to Christmas at Biltmore (in North Carolina), including Biltmore’s celebrated Candlelight Christmas Evenings, where guests experience Biltmore House decorated for the holidays and illuminated by candlelight, fireplaces and Christmas lights.

The full tour will also feature locations connected to popular holiday films, including Hallmark Channel’s One Royal Holiday, A Biltmore Christmas, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, and Mystic Christmas, along with locations associated with Netflix’s The Noel Diary, Lifetime’s 12 Days of Christmas Eve and The Holiday Fix-Up, among others.

Western New York will be an important part of the journey. Guests will spend time along East Aurora’s Main Street and in downtown Buffalo, visiting recognizable locations and local establishments while experiencing the region that has become home to a growing number of Christmas movie productions.

During the East Aurora media event, Ken and Deb Mayfield and Andrew Gernhard shared a preview of the tour, photographs from featured locations, details about the Western New York portion of the journey and some of the behind-the-scenes stories that inspired the experience.

Local officials and representatives from the Western New York film and tourism community also joined the event to highlight the region’s growing connection to film production and holiday tourism.

Gernhard, whose producing work through Synthetic Cinema International includes numerous holiday films, will accompany guests on the trip and share stories about how Christmas movies are made, how locations are selected and how real communities are transformed for the screen.
